Best Weather by Destination
Got a specific destination in mind, and wondering when the best time to visit that region may be? Use this next guide to help steer you in the right direction…
Hawaii
Ideal months: March to July (high 70s to high 80s), October and November (mid-80s)
Consistently ranking as the #1 honeymoon destination, Hawaii generally experiences temperate weather all year round. As with most other tropical locations, couples from colder climates look to escape from the winter chill.
Not-so-ideal months: December and January (low 80s), August and September (high 80s), November to March (rainy season)
If we had to choose a bad time to visit Hawaii, this would be it. Even at its coldest, temperatures rarely drop below 70; the warmest months can get as hot as high 90s.
Bahamas
Ideal months: November to April (low to mid-70s)
Trade winds ensure that temperatures remain relatively mild.
Not-so-ideal months: June to October (high 80s to low 90s)
Not only the hottest time of the year, but these months are also the rainiest and bring a slight chance of hurricanes.
Bermuda
Ideal months: May to October (mid-70s to low 80s)
While temperatures are in a comfortable range, 80% humidity can make it feel a lot warmer than it really is.
Not-so-ideal months: January and February (low 60s)
Not terribly unbearable, but most Bermudian accommodations don’t have central heating, so plan to cozy up near a fireplace on winter nights.
Caribbean
Ideal months: December to May (mid-80s to high 80s)
The cooler months tend to be the most tolerable with less humidity.
Not-so-ideal months: June to November (high 80s to mid-90s)
The official hurricane season – September being the worst month – with heightened humidity on top of the increased temperatures.
Europe
Ideal months: May to September (variable)
Generally speaking, most regions of Europe experience mild weather during these months as a result of winds blowing across the continent from the Atlantic.
Not-so-ideal months: December to February (variable)
Temperatures range depending on the region in which you are visiting, but for the most part, winter months can be extremely frigid during this time of year – but can make for great skiing conditions!
Florida
Ideal months: March and April, October and November (low 70s to mid-80s)
Like its namesake, these months experience the least amount of precipitation. Early spring and late fall tend to be the most bearable not only because of its humid subtropical climate, but also because most kids are still in school at these times.
Not-so-ideal months: May to September (high 80s to low 90s)
Florida has the highest average precipitation of any state and experiences more lightning strikes than anywhere else in the country, and these months are highly humid and smack dab in the middle of hurricane season.
Las Vegas
Ideal months: March, April, October, and November (high 80s to high 90s)
With a desert-like climate, it is best to experience “The Entertainment Capital of the World” before or after the intolerable summer heat – sometimes soaring up to over 110 degrees! While the degrees are high, Vegas lacks the sticky humidity so it doesn’t feel as hot as it really is.
Not-so-ideal months: June to September (100-115 degrees)
Extreme heat, plenty of sunshine, and lack of rain make these months hard to handle in the “City of Sin.”
Mexico
Ideal months: October to May (variable)
Mexico is divided into temperate and tropical regions by the Tropic of Cancer, with slightly cooler temperatures to the north of the twenty-forth parallel. While temperatures remain consistently high throughout the year, these months tend to see less precipitation.
Not-so-ideal months: June to September (variable)
Not so much the temperature that makes these months less desirable as the two-hour periods of rain that douse the country each day.
Southeast Asia
Ideal months: November to February (low 70s to high 80s)
Less humidity and precipitation along with “cooler” temperatures make these months more desirable.
Not-so-ideal months: April and May, June to September (low 80s to low 90s)
Oppressive humidity is a result of its proximity to the ocean. A tropical rain belt triggers a severe wet season which often produces monsoons.
South Pacific
Ideal months: May to October (mid-70s)
This region’s winter months, slightly cooler and drier days make for comfortable travel.
Not-so-ideal months: December to February (high 80s)
Hot, humid, and rainy climates prove to be uncomfortable travel conditions.
