She’s a former competitive snowboarder turned doctor who has her pilot’s license and runs marathons. He was a 2004 Olympic gymnast who joined the air force and became a fighter pilot. They met as pen pals when he was stationed overseas in 2006, and somewhere along the way, fit a wedding into their busy lives by tying the knot at the very same place where Justin proposed – the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.
Originally part of the Biltmore Dairy Operation, Lioncrest, a renovated and historic barn-like structure on the property, hosted their 80 guests for dinner and dancing under high vaulted ceilings and exposed antique beams.

Amy’s A-line, strapless, Pnina Tornai gown, purchased from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City, was characterized by a dramatic sweetheart neckline and intricately beaded lace. Just under the hem, she sported ivory Manolo Blahniks.
Twinkle lights and large, white linen lanterns swayed from the ceiling of the covered veranda that served as a romantic ceremony site surrounded by forest.

Amy’s dog, Jack, a former search-and-rescue dog from her time working in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, served as ring bearer, even though he is blind. The nine-year-old Vizsla waited patiently in the front row until she arrived, at which time he slipped out of his collar to give her a big, wet kiss at the altar.

As centerpieces, calla lilies and hydrangeas stood among crystal-draped branches in tall, glass cylinders surrounded by short vases holding pink roses. Amy carried a bouquet of tulips, lilacs, and grape hyacinths, while Jack looked dapper in a matching floral wreath.

A calligrapher created stationery in an elegant ivory-and-black motif, while small white blooms embellished the escort cards that awaited guests in a thick bed of green mums.
Ivory roses and green hydrangeas sat atop a three-tiered ivory cake featuring and flavorful layers of both almond and red velvet.
